Christmas Time at the D.C. Temple

On Sunday night we took a trip to see the Christmas lights at the Washington D.C. temple and listen to a music performance by the Pacheco family. Our plan was to walk around for a few minutes outside so as to enjoy the lights and the many nativities on the ground, including a live nativity, before watching the performance in the visitor center. But 31 degree weather along with a strong breeze meant very few people spent any time wondering the grounds outside. I did manage to get a few shots of the temple with some Christmas lights in the foreground. It was a beautiful sight to behold. With so many people flocking indoors the visitor center was packed. We had to ditch the stroller just to walk around. We waited in line for about 40 minutes to see the Pacheco family perform. They played three shows in a 450 seat theater, just so you have an idea how many people were wondering the visitor center. Annika loved the performance and sang along. She also was copying the girl playing piano by playing a pretend one of her own. The people sitting next to us thought it was the funniest thing. The evening was a great way to spend our time together as a family.

The beautiful D.C. Temple.
Annika bundled up to stay warm. She reminded me of the little boy in the Christmas Story movie who couldn't put his arms down.
It was soooo cold outside.
The Christus with Christmas trees decorating the lobby.
A beautiful site to behold.
