It's official. Annika is old enough and ready to start school. Growing up in California I'm used to starting school after Labor Day, but it seems everywhere else in the country starts way before then, and NM is no exception. When we moved here it took a couple weeks to find a house, and then we were pressed for time to find a school. For a while it looked as though Annika would be doing home school for Pre-K. All the good schools were full, and I wasn't going to put her in a daycare like facility. Joe and I got lucky and found one last opening at a good school not far from where our house will be and we feel good about her attending. Can't wait to see how she likes it!

Daddy is proud of his little girl...
...and so is mama.

Although Annika was excited about school, she was also a little reluctant to be left on her own.
But she was ready and was fine when we left, although somewhat reserved.
This is when I picked her up from school. She was so excited to tell me all about her day. It's going to be a great year for her.
After school we went to Trader Joe's and she was thrilled they had little shopping carts for kids to shop with. I see this store a lot in our future.
