Catching Up

Sorry I've been so bad with posting lately. I've just been really unmotivated to upload pictures. I have been meaning to. Regardless, here's an abbreviated glimpse into our lives over the past couple of weeks. The snow that was falling on the night of my last post continued well into the next morning. It was so pretty to awaken to a blanket of white outside. Everything looks so pristine after a fresh snowfall. I find the fresh snow so beautiful to look I'm reluctant to rush out and mess it up with my footprints.
Still snowing when we wake up.
The neighbor's bushes laden with snow. A clean a fresh street.
Icicles hanging from the eaves.
The dogs happy to get out and wrestle in the back yard.
Jackson and Shakespeare playing in the snow.
Everything shuts down here when it snows, so Joe had a snow day from work. It was nice having an extra day home with him. Thanks snow for accommodating Joe with a 3-day weekend!
Annika in her makeshift snow gear. It doesn't snow enough here to bother with real snow clothes.Annika trying to figure out, "What the heck is on my feet?" (Yes, they are produce bags.)
Annika trying out the sled for the first, and most likely last, time this year.
The dogs encouraging Annika on the sled.
Taking off nice and easy.
Building up a little speed.
Sooner or later you knew this was bound to happen.
Annika trying to keep her balance.Annika's so like her Mama when it comes to snow; it's too cold to be much fun.
Daddy's little bundle of joy!
Shakespeare trying to catch snowballs in his mouth.
What a sport!
Joe teaching Annika how to make snowballs.Sharing.
That was fun, but I think I'll just watch Daddy and the dogs from inside.
Later that day Annika had a little tea party.
And then she insisted on the best snow day food ever...ice cream of course!
Yummy!
The day before, we had planted seeds. She had a good time putting the dirt in the pots and adding the seeds. If she were a little older I'd do the whole faith is like a seed lesson, but just enjoying our time together before church planting flowers was fun.
Annika putting the soil pods into the pots.
Making sure each pot has soil.
Adding water to the soil.
Annika's expression cracks me up here. It's like, "What?!"
I love this little church dress on Annika, but she was not going to cooperate with me and let me just take her picture. Joe calls me "Paparazzi Mama" because I take way too many pictures (at least in his opinion, but he'll thank me one day when his little girl is all grown up.)
"Yeah Daddy, you'll thank Mama someday!"
Annika is starting to be inconsistent with her afternoon nap, but if she's tired nothing gets in the way of her sleep, not even the hardwood floor.
Sound asleep on the living room floor.
The stop, drop, and take a nap drill. An all so common sight in our kitchen.
Yes, it's Annika's own private office.
Now that she's accomplished minimizing the number of items in our pantry, her job is done.
Joe had brought home a few Easter candies for Annika from work, but the was too tired to eat them when he gave them to her. I put them in a little Valentine pail on the sink and forgot about them....but that doesn't mean Annika did. I think Joe was a little disappointed she discovered them without him being around.
Got candy?
This is some pretty good stuff!
Can we say "yum?"
What a great day!
A few weeks ago the Morgans moved to the other side of town. What's with everyone who lives close to us moving away? Anyways, we watched her little boy Ezekiel. Annika was such a good little helper. She really likes to be the "little mama!"
This is the best baby doll ever!
Look at how good I feed him! (He really was a great baby!)
Annika has discovered playing in the sink. She can spend over half an hour washing her hands. It's a little annoying if we're in a hurry, but if we want her out of our hair for a few minutes it's a great distraction.
Add some soap and rub.
Rinse off one hand...
...and then the other.
