We were so lucky to be able to celebrate the 4th on base on the parade field by our house. In the morning there were festivities and food for the kids, and in the evening fireworks were launched.
Ben and Annika climbing the rock climbing wall before sliding down it.

There was this awesome space shuttle bouncer.

Inside the spacecraft.

Sliding down the back of the shuttle.

There was t-ball.

Joe's nephew Matthew and his sister Anna were visiting. Matthew was a good sport taking care of Brayden. He was actually quite good with the kids.

Ben and Annika going down a giant slide.

They couldn't get enough of this slide.

It was so hot! We all got Italian ice to cool down.

After our outing to the parade field we went to the pool. Annika decided her boots would make excellent shoes to were to the pool.

We went back to the parade field that night to watch the pretty fireworks.

Brayden didn't seem to know what to make of the fireworks.

Annika was not a fan. I asked if she was scared and she told me, "I'm not scared, my eyes are scared." She's so funny!

It was a good thing I could walk home with the kids. Annika refused to open her eyes and look at any of the fireworks as we walked back. It was surprising to me how scared she was.
