First Real Snow!

Last Saturday we got a little dusting of snow, but it really didn't cover the ground and it seemed too warm to stay. I snapped a quick shot of the red berries on the bush by our front porch, loving the contrast between the red, green, and white.

When we woke up on Sunday we discovered it had snowed more through the night. Words can't describe how beautiful freshly fallen snow looks. Here is a view looking out into our backyard.
And here is a view looking out onto our front yard. It was still very early in the morning.
Our pretty red berries covered in even more snow.
With the wreath on our door and snow on the ground it really began to feel like Christmas!

Annika was so curious and excited about seeing the snow.
Annika bending over to touch the snow.
Annika trying to figure out what to make of the cold snow.
After covering her other hand with snow, Annika put her hand up and said "all done." She wanted me to wipe it off her hand. It was probably getting pretty cold.
The sun coming out as Annika walks around the snow on the back porch.
The view of our house as we are leaving for church. By the time church was over most of the snow had melted, but even today there were a couple of small patches left. It is starting to rain outside right now, so tomorrow those small little patches will be completely gone.
