Annika did really good on the flight to Texas. She mostly slept, but when she wasn't sleeping she was interested in her dog, which is really a child leash, or listening to music. She did really good!
Look at the grip she has on the dog.

Listening to music that Joe downloaded for her on his ipod.

Dinner with family.

The main reason we went to Texas was for Joe's parents' 50th wedding anniversary party. It was well attended by family from all over the country.
Still happy after 50 years.

Joe's sister Anna made the cake using the same cake topper used on their wedding day.

Annika couldn't get enough of the peaches.

Annika made a good friend in Desiree...her 1st cousins little girl.

While in Texas we took a trip to San Antonio. We had lunch on the river walk at the Rainforest Cafe. We sat right next to this gorilla.

Annika loved the fish tank...

...but held on tight to Joe while exploring the rest of the restaurant.

Overall, Annika had a good time.

Annika wouldn't cooperate for the picture, but every visit to the river walk needs a picture of the colored umbrellas.

By chance we saw a brochure for a drive-thru wildlife ranch. Thought it would be fun to see some animals from in the car, but they ended up being pretty domesticated and we got a much closer look than we expected.
This zebra is eating food from Joe's hand...if you look real close you can see his hand.

This ostrich could have easily stuck his head in the car, but he kept looking in and then pecking on the window.

At the end there is a little petting zoo of sorts. Annika loved feeding this pig.

Eating at Flip Happy Crepes, the competition to Bobby Flay's Crepe Throwdown.

Annika loved her Nutella crepe.

Okay, we ate good on this trip. Here we are at County Line...the best B.B.Q. ever.

Matthew handling the world's largest rib.

Okay, so smaller is more manageable.
